Who is Nikilips?

I am an aspiring stylist, elusive urban stoop dweller, road trip junkie, and cosmic dancer. My mom is from Nicaragua and my dad is fourth generation San Franciscan. Born in California and partially raised in Georgia, Eclectic is my middle name. Well, actually it’s Elizabeth, but it should be Eclectic. My style is always evolving.

I can honestly say there are so many little signs throughout my childhood pointing me to a career in styling, but it took me 30 years to understand them. As a child, I’d mix and match my Barbie’s wardrobes, not dressing them in the outfits straight from the box. Another favorite toy of mine was Crayola’s Fashion Designer Kit. In middle school, I joined the drama club eventually becoming head of wardrobe. I continued doing wardrobe in high school and later joined the fashion club. This was huge for me since none of my friends were in it. After graduating, I went on to college to study psychology, but I even managed to sneak in  a psychology of fashion class. After college, I started styling friends on the side, but part-time was not enough. After getting a chance to do wardrobe for a music video, I decided styling is something I need to do full time. This is where I am today, currently in the process of turning a hobby into a career.

  1. Love your profile. Reminds me of myself (although I knitted by barbie doll’s outfits, and sometimes made them on my grandma’s old sewing machine). Looking forward to checking out more of you blog. x
